Why are these film blogs and sites lying?
The thing about a spec script is that it is often the first of many revisions. The shooting script often looks very different; the studio may have asked for a “kingpin” role to represent the face of the cartel. Plus, Bardem’s villain in No Country for Old Men was so iconic that I can see why another McCarthy villain would be insisted upon.Supposedly, sites are claiming that the likes of Renner, Bardem, and Pitt are circling the role of the villain in McCarthy’s The Counselor. Where are they getting this nonsense from. I’ve read the script and there is no villain role. The killers are never named, never shown, and you don’t know who exactly they work for other than the cartel.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe they will do some revisions, i dunno.
